Mom, I'm So Hungry, You NEVER Feed Us!

My five-year-old said this to me the other morning. Of course, she hadn't eaten her dinner the night before, but she was somewhat justified.

You see, I wake up slow. I mean SLOW. I'm sure I get it from my dad. We used to gather bright and early in my parents' bedroom on Christmas morning, because we weren't allowed to go downstairs until everyone was up. Well, we would spend at least 1/2 hour waiting for my dad to get up. I moaned and groaned about how slow he was, so I really do understand how my kids' feel. I just can't help it.

I don't function unless I've checked my email (yes, first priority), brushed my teeth, poured my morning Diet Coke (I know, I'm a freak), and consumed half of it. By the time I'm ready to get going, my children are usually STARVING! So I'm always looking for creative, quick and easy breakfasts! Frankly, my kids are tired of the sam old thing.

I got a coupon for new Kraft Bagel-fuls last week, so I decided to try it. With the help of The Grocey Game, I got them for $1.00. (sale:2/$4; coupon $1) Two of my daughters love them! The middle child, who claims child neglect, can't stand anything remotely resembling sauce, including Cream Cheese. So I'm back to the drawing board with her. I really wish I could get her to eat anything other than a piece of American Cheese for breakfast.

I'll admit, I cheated on my carb-fast, and had one, and they're great! The best thing is that you can cook them in the microwave, toaster, or eat them straight out of the refrigerator. It's a winner in my morning mayhem survival!
